Your feedback is welcome

One final post before the blog goes into hibernation! First off, congratulations to our winner, Arvid, whose entry sees the inaugural ETNW win go to the home country of Tore, our much missed MB member to whom the whole contest was dedicated.

Since this was the first ever The Eurovision That Never was, I wanted to ask everyone who took part - and indeed those who didn't - for their feedback about the contest. What, in your view, worked? What didn't? What would you do differently? Were the rules too complicated? Was the timing all wrong? Were you too MB-contested out to bother taking part?

For my own part I would change the timing of the ETNW, if it is held again, so that the final doesn't coincide with the national final season kicking in, since to me it's felt like the contest went out with a fizz rather than the bang it should have. I would also consider requiring non-qualifying semi-finalists to vote in the final, since I was a little disappointed in the lack of interest among them this time around (although that might speak against making it compulsory) (and it is undoubtedly also related to the national finals being in full swing).

In any case, there's plenty of time to think about it. You can reply on here or on the MB - I will be posting a request for feedback on there also. Anything you have to say, be it praise or criticism, would be appreciated.

Thanks again to everyone for taking part! See you next year...?

  1. Seems a shame that we have to wait another year? Or is it too much work to do it more often?
