A final post before the blog goes into hibernation for another year... Congratulations to our winner, Roger, whose entry sees only the second-ever ETNW win go to the UK, but simultaneously stay in Norway - home of Tore, the MB member to whom the contest was originally dedicated.
Since this was only the second edition of The Eurovision That Never was, I wanted to ask everyone who took part - and indeed those who didn't - for their feedback about the contest. What, in your view, worked? What didn't? Which rules would you change? Were you too MB-contested out to bother taking part? Drop me a line at etnw2011@gmail.com and let me know, or post something on the MB.
I already have a couple of changes in mind for ETNW 2012 - dropping the 'no national final artists' requirement, for example, and limiting it to 'no Eurovision artists' only. The idea behind this was to avoid getting too many entries from people associated with Eurovision and to still encourage entries with music from outside of the contest, but which could still fit... but perhaps it's worth a try at least once ;-) There's something else I'm considering, too, but I'm mull it over.
No rush, of course. Again, thanks to everyone who took part! Hope to see you - and those missing from the first edition - and more newbies - next year!
